They are looking for a experienced Press Brake Operator to join their fabrication team on a full time basis reporting to the Supervisor.
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Press Brake Operator to join our stainless steel fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Amada press brake machines to manufacture high-quality stainless steel components in accordance with engineering drawings and customer specifications. The role requires a strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and adherence to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Amada CNC press brake machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Select appropriate tooling and perform machine setups for various stainless steel components.
- Program and adjust machine parameters to achieve accurate bends and tolerances.
- Inspect finished parts using measuring equipment to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform first-off and in-process quality inspections.
- Handle stainless steel materials carefully to prevent damage and contamination.
- Work to production schedules while maintaining high quality standards.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and daily housekeeping.
- Report machine faults, quality issues, or material shortages to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following company health and safety procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Work collaboratively with fabrication, welding, and finishing departments.
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous experience operating Amada CNC press brake machines.
- Experience working with stainless steel fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of press brake tooling and bending techniques.
- Competent in using measuring equipment such as verniers, calipers, angle gauges, and tape measures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to meet production deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Amada programming software.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Forklift licence (desirable).
- Overhead crane experience (desirable).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift materials in accordance with company manual handling procedures.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
