Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Press Brake Operator in Biggleswade to support an expanding order book. You will operate press brake machines, interpret blueprints and specifications, and set up tooling to meet production requirements.

The role emphasizes accuracy, quality control, and safe, efficient operation in a busy manufacturing environment. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7am–4pm, with pay between £16.00 and £20.00 per hour depending on experience and skills.

Responsibilities

• Adjust tooling, dies, and machine settings for each bending operation.
• Position and align metal plates and sheets on the press brake.
• Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure quality and productivity.
• Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and conformance.
• Perform routine maintenance and keep machines clean and safe.

Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Press Brake Operative to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the site's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.

Press Brake Operator required to work for manufacturing company based in Biggleswade, immediate starts available for the right candidates.

Press Brake Operator Job Description:

The Press Brake Operator plays a crucial role in our manufacturing and production process by operating and maintaining both press brake machines. They are responsible for bending and shaping metal plates and sheets according to specifications and blueprints. Press Brake Operators ensure that the finished products meet quality standards and adhere to customer requirements.

Press Brake Operator Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and shape metal plates and sheets.
• Must be able to do radius bending.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine the required specifications for each job.
• Select the appropriate tooling, dies, and machinery settings for each bending operation.
• Position metal plates and sheets onto the press brake machine and accurately align them according to the specified measurements.
• Adjust machine settings such as speed, pressure, and depth to ensure precise bending and shaping of the metal.
• Monitor the operation of the press brake machine, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the required specifications, dimensions, and quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press brake machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues or notify the maintenance department for repairs.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Press Brake Operator Required Skills:

• Proficiency in operating press brake machines and knowledge of various bending techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production specifications.
• Strong mathematical skills to accurately measure and calculate dimensions for bending operations.
