Job summary

Motorpoint Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a Preparation Supervisor to lead the workshop and yard teams, ensuring vehicles are prepared for display and customer collection. You’ll coach the team, manage workloads, and maintain high standards of quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with the Preparation Manager, coordinate with sales, and drive continuous improvement in workshop processes while upholding Motorpoint values: Proud, Honest, Supportive and Happy.

Qualifications

• Experience leading workshop and yard teams in a car retailer environment.
• Ability to manage multiple processes and workloads methodically.
• Strong track record in workshop control, quality control and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the workshop and yard team to prepare vehicles for site display and customer collection.
• Coach, lead, and develop the Yard and Workshop team.
• Ensure issues are identified during the Buyer's pitch visit and addressed.
• Allocate work and maintain productivity with quality.
• Maintain administrative procedures and document filing.
• Work with subcontractors on site and manage relationships.
• Support the Preparation Manager in workshop management duties.
• Liaise with sales team and assist where necessary.
• Follow health and safety policies and safe work instructions.
• Oversee PDI inspections and vehicle repairs as part of the workshop team.
• Hold a full, clean driving licence.

Job description

Our workshops are a key department on every site and we are looking for a Preparation Supervisor to supervise the workshop and yard team reporting directly into the Preparation Manager. As a Preparation Supervisor here at Motorpoint, you will help us to shake off all those outdated car industry clichés and help us drive into the fast lane towards becoming the most desired car retailer. Let us tell you a little bit about what you will be doing

• Supporting the yard operations and team to prepare vehicles for site display and customer collection
• Coaching, leading and developing the Yard and Workshop team.
• To ensure low level of issues such as price boards, preparation issues are identified during the Buyer's pitch visit
• Ensuring work is allocated to individuals and productivity is maintained whilst maintaining quality
• Maintain good administrative procedures and filing of relevant documents
• Working closely with sub contractors on site and maintaining a good relationship
• Assisting your line manager in their duties related to workshop management
• Liaise with sales team members and assist where necessary
• Carry out all duties in line with the company's health and safety policies and procedures, and the safe to work instructions
• Assist the team to carry out PDI inspections and repair vehicles as part of the workshop team
• Due to the nature of the role you will need a full, clean driving licence

This role will require you to be well organised, have a methodical approach to workload with the ability to manage several processes and tasks at the same time. You'd be required to be IT literate with working knowledge of Outlook and Excel.
