Job summary

Motorpoint Ltd in Derby is seeking a skilled Warranty Technician to diagnose and resolve advanced faults on our nearly new vehicles. You will use OEM diagnostic platforms, perform engine/gearbox repairs, and ensure work meets manufacturer standards.

You’ll document findings for warranty submissions, explain diagnostics to customers, mentor junior technicians, and support MOT testing and Pre-Delivery Inspections. Join a team committed to accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in advanced vehicle repairs and diagnostics.
• IMI Level 3 or equivalent qualified technician.
• MOT testing qualification or willingness to support.
• Strong communication and documentation accuracy.

• Complete final road tests, re-calibrations, and system resets.

• Conduct root cause analysis and ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards.
• Use specialist equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, smoke testers) for accurate testing.
• Complete final road tests, re-calibrations, and system resets.
• Accurately document all findings and repairs for warranty submissions.
• Liaise with customers to explain diagnostics and build trust.
• Support MOT testing and Pre-Delivery Inspections when needed.
• Mentor junior technicians and share best practices.
• Maintain workshop standards and compliance with DVSA and Health & Safety.
