Job summary

Vertu BMW Prep Centre Sunderland is seeking an experienced Prep Technician to join our team, preparing new and used vehicles to BMW standards with a focus on PDIs and quality.

This role offers a basic salary of £28,000–£35,000, a 40/41-hour week, overtime Saturdays, a performance bonus opportunity, and extensive manufacturer training, with clear progression across Vertu's 190+ locations.

Qualifications

• Relevant automotive qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3).
• Current experience as a Vehicle Technician.
• Your own set of tools.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong technical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards.
• Strong team-working and communication skills.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on new and used vehicles.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with BMW manufacturer standards.
• Identify and rectify any issues prior to vehicle handover.
• Perform servicing, maintenance and preparation work as required.
• Complete all job cards and supporting documentation accurately.
• Work to agreed productivity and efficiency targets.
• Maintain the highest standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Ensure vehicles are prepared safely and compliantly.
• Support colleagues in achieving departmental objectives.
• Deliver first-time fixes wherever possible.
