Job summary

Vertu Vauxhall Durham is hiring a Prep Technician to perform pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles, ensuring quality and adherence to manufacturer guidelines. The role emphasizes timely PDIs, high productivity, and excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Automotive, current Vehicle Technician experience, and own tools. MOT license is preferred but not essential; a full UK driving licence is required.

We are offering a basic salary up to £33,200 depending on skills and experience. This is based on a 42 hour working week and an additional over-performance bonus opportunity plus NO WEEKEND WORKING!

Your role as a PrepTechnician is crucial in delivering an exceptional customer experience, built on trust and honesty. As a Prep Technician you will be responsible for carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDI's) on new and used vehicles. You will ensure the PDI's are carried out to the highest possible standard and within manufacturer guidelines. You will need to work to agreed time frames, and maintain a high level of productivity, whilst ensuring exceptional customer service at all times. Quality workmanship and achieving first-time fixes are core values that guide everything we do.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

• A relevant formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3
• Current experience as a Vehicle Technician
• MOT license preferred but not essential
• Your own set of tools
• A full UK driving licence
