Job summary

New Hall School in Boreham is seeking a compassionate Learning Support & Cover Assistant (Preparatory Divisions) to support pupils with SEND across Reception to Year 6. The role combines one-to-one support, small-group interventions and in-class assistance within a Catholic independent boarding and day setting.

The successful candidate will have experience with SEND, strong communication skills and a proactive, flexible attitude, with safeguarding at the core of practice.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEND.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND.
• Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, maths, language and motor skills.
• Work with teachers and SENDCo to apply pupil plans and targets.
• Supervise classes and assist with co-curricular activities.
• Support trips and residentials as required.
