Job summary

New Hall School is seeking a compassionate Learning Support & Cover Assistant (LSCA) for the Preparatory Divisions (Reception – Year 6). This full-time, term-time only role provides one-to-one support, small-group intervention and in-class assistance to pupils with SEND.

You will work with the SENDCo and teaching staff to implement targeted strategies, monitor progress and support safeguarding and wellbeing within a Catholic independent school community in Boreham, near Chelmsford.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with a range of SEND.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, helping them engage with learning and achieve targets.
• Deliver literacy, maths, language and fine motor skills interventions.
• Work with the SENDCo and teachers to implement pupil plans and targets.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and supervise classes.
• Support the co-curricular programme before/after school and assist on trips and residentials.
