Job summary

Our Lady of Sion School in Worthing seeks a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with a range of needs across the Junior and Senior Schools. The role involves working with pupils individually, in small groups, and in the classroom and Learning Support Room to help them overcome barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will have a Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent, recent experience with SEND, and GCSEs in English and Maths.

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification or equivalent qualification or experience.
• Recent experience of working with children with additional needs, the ability to supervise and support pupils of all ages with a wide range of physical/learning needs, including dyslexia, autism, ADHD and SEMH.
• Prefer candidates with proven track record supporting pupils in Maths and English to GCSE level.
• GCSE English and Maths at A*-C or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supportchildren and young people with a wide range of learning, communication and additional needs, including SEND, EHCPs and EAL.
• Provide support to pupils individually, in small groups and within the classroom and Learning Support Room.
• Establish positive, dependable relationships with children and demonstrate patience, professionalism and good judgement.
• Work across Junior and Senior Schools as needed to support all pupils.

Education

Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification or equivalent qualification or experience

GCSE in English and Maths A*-C or equivalent grade
