Job summary

Johnstons of Elgin is seeking a Press and Cropping Operative to join the Wet Finishing department. You will be trained to finish luxurious cloths and contribute to production quality.

This is a full-time, permanent role at 38 hours per week on a two-shift rotation (early and late). The rate is £13.45 per hour, along with shift pay allowance.

Full training will be provided and you will operate and monitor machinery to process cloth for further production stages.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Good colour vision and attention to detail.
• Previous experience operating machinery or manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wet finishing machinery, including Pinwheel and Vapourdec machines.
• Monitor cloth quality throughout the finishing process.
• Handle materials safely and in line with operating procedures.
• Learn multiple machines and processes (up to 15 machines and 27 processes).
• Work as part of a team to meet production and quality standards.
