Job summary

Johnstons of Elgin is seeking a Twisting Operative to join the Yarn Manufacturing team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role covers operating twist machinery and supporting quality testing across shifts, with full training provided.

You will work in a manufacturing environment to meet production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards, including occasional holiday cover for the Quality Laboratory within Yarn Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Experience in textile manufacturing is desirable.
• Willing to work a three-shift rotation.
• Full training provided.
• Commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate pre-twist and up-twist machines to produce yarns to specification.
• Load, unload and prepare yarn cones and throstles for twisting.
• Monitor machine performance and respond to yarn breaks and stoppages.
• Record production data accurately using the computer system.
• Follow all quality, health and safety procedures and wear PPE.
