Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Premises Officer to join our University of Chester team, covering sites in Chester and surrounding areas. You will work with a team of engineers to maintain building fabric and ensure services run smoothly.

Ideal candidates will have City & Guilds Level II/III in a trade, experience with building maintenance for commercial/domestic properties, and a full UK driving licence. You will be on a call-out rota and responsible for health and safety, documentation, and

Qualifications

  • Trade-based City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent is required.
  • Experience of building fabric maintenance in commercial and domestic buildings.
  • Experience of working within a mobile service delivery contract.
  • Understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLA's), service targets and KPIs.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
  • Strong customer care focus.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proactive approach.
  • Able to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.
  • Full UK Driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out Reactive and emergency breakdown tasks and complete the associated paperwork.
  • Be on a call out rota to provide the client with full out of hours cover.
  • Assisting other team members when required or as directed from the Contracts Manager.
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed within the contractual time scales.
  • Proactively reduce energy consumption on site.
  • Overseeing visiting sub-contractors with regards to standard of work and Health and Safety.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Premises Officer to join our FM Segment of the business and to join our University of Chester team, covering sites and campuses in Chester and surrounding areas. Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, you will be expected to take full responsibility for the building maintenance and work closely with the Site Supervisor and Helpdesk. As part of this role, you will be required to work flexible hours and complete a variety of tasks related to this role to ensure the continued smooth operation of the FM business.

What do you bring to the role?
  • Ideally looking for someone with a trade based City & Guilds qualification Level II/III or equivalent.
  • Experience of building fabric maintenance, both with commercial and domestic buildings.
  • Experience of working within a mobile service delivery contract.
  • An understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLA's), service targets and objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
