Job summary

Lotus Cars Limited seeks a Welder to join the Manufacturing – Lotus Fabrication team at our Norwich facility. You will manufacture high-quality welded assemblies using MIG/MAG, Spot and TIG processes, reading engineering drawings and setting up equipment to produce to exacting standards.

You will inspect, test, document production and contribute to safety, quality and continuous improvement within a busy automotive environment.

Qualifications

• Must have welding and fabrication qualification.
• Experience in general fabrication and welding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of welding equipment and fabrication processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Flexible approach and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Weld fabricated assemblies using MIG/MAG, Spot and TIG welding processes.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and manufacturing processes.
• Set up welding equipment and select appropriate programmes.
• Inspect and test completed assemblies before moving to next production stage.
• Use workshop tools including grinders, drills, power saws and other fabrication tools.
• Complete production documentation and batch records.
• Identify maintenance concerns and carry out first-line problem solving where appropriate.
• Work safely and maintain a clean, organised work area per Health & Safety requirements.
• Meet quality, safety and production targets while supporting continuous improvement.
