Job summary

Group Lotus in Norwich is seeking a Welder to join the Manufacturing – Lotus Fabrication team. You will produce high-quality fabricated assemblies using MIG/MAG, Spot and TIG welding, reading engineering drawings and applying robust workmanship to ensure precise components for our world-class vehicles.

The role focuses on safe, efficient production, thorough inspection, and documentation. You will work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to advance into fabrication or leadership paths

Qualifications

• A welding and fabrication qualification.
• Experience in general fabrication and welding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of welding equipment and fabrication processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Weld fabricated assemblies using MIG/MAG, Spot and TIG welding processes.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and processes.
• Set up welding equipment and select appropriate programmes.
• Inspect and test completed assemblies before moving to the next stage.
• Operate grinders, drills, power saws and other fabrication tools.
• Complete production documentation and batch records.
• Identify maintenance issues and perform first-line problem solving.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following Health & Safety rules.
• Meet quality, safety and production targets while supporting continuous improvement.
