Job summary

Involve Recruitment is seeking an experienced Fabricator / Welder for a hands-on role in Melton Mowbray. You will work from engineering drawings, using MIG and TIG welding to produce high-quality fabrications, with some MMA welding when needed.

The role covers workshop fabrication and on-site fitting, requiring safe operation of hand and power tools, accurate measuring, and a commitment to meeting project deadlines. A full UK driving licence is preferred and you'll join a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Proven welding and fabrication experience.
• Good MIG and TIG welding skills.
• Experience working from engineering drawings.
• Good mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
• Confidence with hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience with MMA welding would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Fabricating and assembling metal structures and components to drawings and specifications.
• Carrying out MIG and TIG welding to a high standard.
• MMA welding where required – experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Measuring, cutting, shaping, preparing and finishing materials.
• Using hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
• Carrying out workshop fabrication as well as on-site fitting and installation.
• Checking completed work to ensure it meets the required quality and dimensional standards.
• Identifying and resolving fabrication or fitting issues where required.
• Working closely with other members of the team to meet project and production deadlines.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment and following all health and safety procedures.
