Job summary

Martin-Baker Aircraft Company Ltd in Denham is recruiting a Toolmaker to work from controlled engineering drawings to produce precision tooling. You will use conventional and CNC milling, turning and grinding equipment, supported by hand-fitting and inspection techniques to deliver tooling right first time.

You will diagnose faults, complete repairs, support new tooling introductions, and contribute to continuous improvement, working closely with Design, Manufacturing and Inspection teams.

Qualifications

• Read engineering drawings and tolerances to plan manufacture.
• Able to inspect and fit tooling to defined standards.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, models, tolerances and specifications, planning the safest and most effective manufacturing sequence.
• Set and operate conventional and CNC milling, turning and grinding equipment to produce precision tooling components.
• Create, prove out and amend NX/OneCNC programmes, checking toolpaths and offsets before manufacture.
• Fit, assemble, inspect and prove jigs, fixtures, gauges, cutters, press tools, mould tools and other tooling.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs or modifications, confirming dimensions and function.
• Maintain traceability and records while supporting tooling introduction and continuous improvement.
