Job summary

Proactive Technical Limited is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing operation in the Greater London area. You will design, manufacture and maintain tooling, supporting production with reliable solutions and timely responses to tooling challenges.

You will interpret drawings, operate toolroom machinery including Wire EDM and CNC, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure tooling meets exacting specifications and production demands.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Toolmaker in engineering/manufacturing
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD for tooling
• Experience with Wire EDM, CNC or conventional machining
• Design and manufacture tooling, jigs, fixtures and gauges
• Maintain and repair tooling to meet production needs

Responsibilities

• Design and manufacture tooling using CAD software and systems
• Manufacture, assemble and test tooling to meet quality and deadlines
• Design and produce jigs, fixtures and gauges for manufacturing
• Maintain, repair and modify production tooling for continuity of capability
• Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure fit for purpose
• Plan tooling maintenance with manufacturing teams and timelines
• Support tooling development and improvements and track modifications
