Job summary

Martin-Baker Aircraft Company Ltd is recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist to join the USRM department at the Chalgrove site.

You will operate 5-axis and 4-axis CNC machines and multi-turret lathes in a small batch, high-precision cell, contributing to lifesaving equipment used by aircrew worldwide. The role emphasizes reading drawings, interpreting CNC programmes and rigorous inspection techniques.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret component drawings, including detail, assembly and finishing process drawings.
• Ability to read and understand CNC programmes using machine interface.
• Experience inspecting components using pressure checking, magnetic particle inspection equipment and paint finishing inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

• Fully set and operate new technology 5 axis CNC milling machines.
• Fully set and operate new technology 4 axis CNC milling machines and multi turret lathes.
• Operate CNC machine tools in a cellular environment and load plan for day and unmanned production.
• Inspect and fettle detail components and ensure quality through the production process.
