Job summary

Precision Tooling Engineer role in Plymouth with a market-leading international manufacturer. Design, fabricate and commission new jigs and fixtures to support production processes, and maintain tooling, jigs and fixtures to ensure smooth operations.

The ideal candidate has an apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical fitting or tooling, and CNC lathe/mill and surface grinding experience. AutoCAD or Inventor skills are a plus; hours are 7am–3pm; salary up to £42,800 with bonus, pension and

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in Mechanical Fitter, Machinist or Toolmaker or NVQ Level 3/BTEC Level 3
• Proficiency in CNC lathe, CNC mill, and surface grinding
• Experience in AutoCAD, 3D modelling or Inventor would be advantageous
• TIG/JIG welding would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate and commission new jigs and fixtures to support production processes.
• Maintain production tooling, jigs, and fixtures
• Support new product introductions, ensuring equipment and processes meet operational requirements.
• Analyse tooling issues and root causes, developing effective PPM and TPM activities.
• Record all maintenance activities within the CMMS.
• Day shift, 7am to 3pm
• £19.21 - £21.96 per hour depending on qualifications and experience

Excellent opportunity for a skilled engineering professional with machining and tooling experience to join a market-leading international manufacturer, working on a range of precision tooling, fixtures and production support activities while developing your career in a highly technical environment.

In this role your duties will include repairing press tooling, jigs, fixtures, and machine parts, create and commission new jigs and fixtures, assist with new product introduction, implement continuous improvement techniques,

• Responsible for maintaining production tooling, jigs, and fixtures
• Support new product introductions, ensuring equipment and processes meet operational requirements.

The person:
