Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment is seeking a Precision Tooling Engineer in the Plymouth area. The role focuses on designing, fabricating and commissioning jigs and fixtures to support production, maintaining tooling and assisting with new product introductions in a highly technical environment.

The successful candidate will have an apprenticeship or NVQ/BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical fields, strong CNC lathe/mill and surface grinding skills, plus experience with AutoCAD or Inventor.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship as Mechanical Fitter, Machinist, or Toolmaker or NVQ Level 3/BTEC Level 3.
• Proficiency in CNC lathe, CNC mill and surface grinding.
• Experience in AutoCAD, 3D modelling or Inventor is advantageous.
• TIG/JIG welding would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and commission new jigs and fixtures to support production processes.
• Maintain production tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
• Support new product introductions, ensuring equipment and processes meet requirements.
• Analyse tooling issues and develop effective PPM and TPM activities.
• Record all maintenance activities within the CMMS.
• Day shift, 7am to 3pm.
