Job summary

Gibbs Gears Precision Engineers Ltd on-site is seeking a Quality Planning Engineer to inspect and validate precision machined components against drawings, tolerances and customer requirements. You will support APQP, prepare FAIRs and PPAP submissions, and conduct Gauge R&R studies to verify measurement systems.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience inspecting precision machined components.
• Practical FAIR and PPAP experience—essential.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and check close-tolerance parts.
• Proficient with micrometres, verniers, gauges and similar inspection tools.
• Excellent data entry and documentation discipline.
• Methodical approach with capability to flag non-conforming parts.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, tolerances and GD&T requirements.
• Support APQP for new products and establish inspection requirements.
• Prepare and complete FAIRs and support PPAP submissions.
• Conduct Gauge R&R studies to assess measurement system capability.
• Record inspection results and maintain traceability.
• Maintain clear inspection records and component traceability.
