Job summary

ReeVR, a specialist engineering business in the UK, is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join the team working on precision machine tool assemblies. You will assemble, fit and test components and work from engineering drawings to tight tolerances.

You will benefit from in-house training, opportunities for progression and paid overtime. A full, valid driving licence is preferred as part of a varied, technically challenging role in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience assembling mechanical equipment, ideally CNC machine tools or other precision machinery.
• Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic or pressure-based fluid systems.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• An understanding of mechanical tolerances, alignment and inspection techniques.
• A methodical approach, excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
• A full, valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Bench fitting and assembling linear and rotary axes, tooling and ancillary equipment.
• Assembling mechanical systems, including enclosures, tool stores and associated plant and equipment.
• Inspecting and aligning linear and rotary axes to ensure accuracy and performance.
• Using manual and digital inspection equipment to check alignment and tolerances.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, dimensions and geometric tolerances.
• Supporting fault-finding activities and resolving mechanical build issues.
• Working closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of quality and workmanship.
