Job summary

McLaren Racing is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join a precision engineering team that drives performance on track. You will help optimise the flow of work into the Machine Shop, support quality and OEE targets, and collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing Engineering and Shop floor teams to deliver parts, pit equipment and wind tunnel components efficiently.

You’ll provide accurate estimates, identify early planning opportunities, and contribute to continual improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-technology, small-batch precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
• A proven track record of cross-functional liaison and delivery management.
• Experience working effectively in a team-orientated environment.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with excellent knowledge of MRP and MES systems.
• Experience introducing new working practices to support world-class manufacturing.
• An understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies and control mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and accept work into the Machine Shop, considering project plans and capacity.
• Support right first time, in full delivery with Shift Leads and Team Leaders.
• Provide reliable set and run time estimates and review timings.
• Ensure raw materials, gauges, cutters and fixtures are identified and planned early.
• Communicate critical information to Process Engineers and support improvement projects.
• Provide ideas and data to enhance MRP and MES systems and participate in team meetings.
