Job summary

McLaren Racing is seeking a Technical Support Engineer in Woking to join a skilled team delivering precision-engineered metallic components that drive performance on track. You’ll support Manufacturing Engineering and Planning to optimise the flow of work into the Machine Shop, helping ensure car components and pit equipment progress efficiently while supporting quality and OEE targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-technology, small-batch precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of cross-functional liaison and delivery management.
• Experience working effectively in a team-orientated environment.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with excellent knowledge of MRP and MES systems.
• Experience introducing new working practices to support world-class manufacturing.
• Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies and control mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and accept work into the Machine Shop with planning and capacity awareness.
• Partner with Shift Leads and Team Leaders to support right first time delivery.
• Provide reliable set and run time estimates and review timings to improve planning.
• Ensure materials, gauges, cutters, and fixtures are identified and planned early.
• Communicate critical information to Process Engineers and support improvement projects.
• Contribute to MRP/MES improvements and share operational risks and opportunities in meetings.
