Job summary

Owen Daniels is recruiting a Manual Machinist to join a well established engineering company in Leicestershire. You will operate manual lathes, perform turning to close tolerances from engineering drawings, and develop a strong understanding of machining processes.

The role is permanent, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £30,000–£35,000 DOE. You will work safely, read drawings, set speeds and feeds, inspect parts, and maintain tooling and workshop standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Manual Machinist.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes to manufacture precision engineering components
• Set and operate machinery safely and efficiently
• Carry out manual turning and other machining operations
• Work from engineering drawings to produce components to specification
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for machining operations
• Inspect finished components using relevant measuring equipment
• Maintain a high standard of quality and accuracy throughout the machining process
• Ensure machinery, tooling, and the work area are maintained to a high standard
