Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their Leicestershire team. The role involves assembling mechanical assemblies for CNC machine tools, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and pressure-based fluid systems, and reading engineering drawings to meet precise specifications.

This is a permanent, Monday–Friday, on-site position. You will work closely with engineering and production to complete projects on time, while maintaining a safe, organised workspace and ensuring quality through

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Builder, or Mechanical Assembly Technician.
• Experience assembling mechanical assemblies for CNC machine tools or similar precision machinery.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and pressure-based fluid systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies for CNC machine tools to engineering specifications
• Install and assemble pneumatic, hydraulic, and pressure-based fluid systems
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and technical documentation
• Carry out mechanical testing, fault finding, and adjustments to ensure equipment meets quality standards
• Work closely with the engineering and production teams to ensure projects are completed on time
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment while following company health and safety procedures
