Job summary

Acorn Recruitment is seeking a Machining Trainee / Technician to join a friendly production team in Taunton. 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, day shift, with full training provided to kick-start a long-term engineering career.

You'll carry out machining and related processes, read drawings, conduct quality checks, and ensure safety and COSHH compliance as part of a small supportive team. This role is suitable for graduates with Level 2/3 engineering or individuals with some machining

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Engineering qualification preferred.
• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and work to high standards.
• Previous machining experience is advantageous for Technician-level applicants.
• Suitable for candidates with little or no machining experience.
• Previous machining experience required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out various machining and associated manufacturing processes.
• Mounting, machining, cleaning, and inspecting precision components.
• Reading and following engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Completing quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
• Adhering to Health & Safety and COSHH regulations at all times.
• Working as part of a small, supportive production team.
