Job summary

Actio Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company based in Bristol who are looking for an experienced Gear Cutter to their growing manufacturing team. The successful candidate will have experience setting and operating gear cutting machinery and be capable of producing precision components to tight tolerances.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected engineering business in Bristol.

Qualifications

• Experience as Gear Cutter or Gear Machinist or similar role.
• Experience with hobbing, shaping, or gear cutting machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of precision engineering tolerances and inspection equipment.
• Apprenticeship or engineering qualifications advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate gear cutting machines.
• Manufacture gears and precision components to specification.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Perform quality inspections using measuring equipment.
• Carry out tool changes and basic machine maintenance.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and production schedules.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams.
