Job summary
Actio Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company in Bristol for a Gear Cutter/Gear Machinist. You will set up and operate gear cutting machines, reading engineering drawings and inspecting parts to tight tolerances, while collaborating with production and quality teams.
The role offers an immediate interview process and a competitive salary dependent on experience with overtime opportunities, based in Bristol.
Qualifications
- Experience as Gear Cutter or Gear Machinist.
- Experience with hobbing, shaping or gear cutting machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of precision engineering tolerances.
- Experience using inspection and measuring equipment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Apprenticeship or engineering qualification advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Setting and operating gear cutting machines.
- Manufacturing gears and precision components to specification.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Carrying out quality inspections using measuring equipment.
- Performing tool changes and basic machine maintenance.
- Ensuring work meets quality standards and production schedules.
- Working closely with the production and quality teams.
