Beard & Fitch Ltd is seeking an experienced Gear Cutter / Gear Cutting Machinist to join their engineering team. You will work from engineering drawings, set up machinery and manufacture precision gears and components to exact specifications.

Applicants should have hands-on experience with gear cutting, hobbing or shaping processes, and be proficient with measuring tools to tight tolerances. This role offers a challenging, quality-focused environment within a skilled engineering team.

Qualifications

• Experience operating gear-cutting machinery.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience with gear hobbing, shaping or similar operations.
• Competence with measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges).
• Ability to work to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate gear-cutting machinery.
• Manufacture precision gears and components from drawings.
• Carry out gear hobbing, shaping or related operations.
• Select and prepare cutting tools.
• Work to tight tolerances and maintain quality.
