Job summary

M O’Brien Group is seeking a Concrete Plant Batcher to operate and manage our batching facility in Flamsted, St Albans. You will batch, mix and oversee production to meet customer specifications while strictly following health and safety standards.

Responsibilities include material control, stock monitoring, record-keeping and daily coordination with the operations team to prioritise workloads. A solid understanding of concrete production and attention to quality are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a concrete batching plant or similar production environment.
• Good understanding of concrete production, materials and batching processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the concrete batching plant safely and efficiently.
• Accurately batch and mix concrete to the required specifications and customer orders.
• Control the supply of raw materials, including cement, aggregates, sand and admixtures.
• Monitor stock levels and report low materials to ensure continuous plant operation.
• Maintain accurate production records, delivery information and batching reports.
• Carry out routine plant checks and report any faults, breakdowns or maintenance requirements.
• Ensure the plant, equipment and working areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.
• Follow all company procedures, health and safety requirements and environmental regulations.
• Assist with troubleshooting plant issues and minimise production downtime.
• Communicate effectively with the operations team to manage daily workloads and priorities.
