Job summary

TAIT in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled CNC Turn Machinist to set up and operate multi-axis turning centers, producing precision components from technical drawings. You will perform in-process inspections and adjust tooling to meet tight tolerances while collaborating with engineering and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with multi-axis CNC turning centers.
• Familiarity with CNC programming (Fanuc, Siemens, etc.).
• Knowledge of manual lathe operation and other conventional machinery.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning machines (lathes) to manufacture precision components to technical drawings and specifications.
• Perform in-process quality inspections using micrometres, callipers, and bore gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Load raw materials, select appropriate tooling and offsets, and ensure correct machine programming.
• Monitor and adjust machining processes to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot minor machining and tooling issues during production.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with company standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to resolve production issues.
• Interpret technical drawings, CAD data, and process documentation accurately.
• Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines.
• Follow all company health, safety, and quality procedures.
