Job summary

John Hyde Engineering, with over a century of engineering heritage in Stoke-on-Trent, is seeking a CNC Setter Operator for their precision machine shop. You will operate Mazak CNC centres, set current and new jobs, and collaborate with Quality Control to ensure right-first-time parts.

Qualifications

• Time served CNC machinist or solid education in a relevant subject.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience of machining to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Setting current and new jobs where required.
• Reading and interpreting engineering and technical drawings.
• Selecting tooling and setting machine offsets.
• Tool management and wear monitoring.
• Producing components to tight tolerances and specifications.
• Carrying out in-process checks and first-off inspection at the machine.
• Maintaining collaboration with Quality Control.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Adhering to health and safety procedures.
