Job summary

First Base is seeking an experienced CNC Setter Operator to join our precision engineering team in Tewkesbury. Set, operate and run multi-axis CNC machines using Mazatrol (Smooth) and Fanuc controls, reading engineering drawings and maintaining tight tolerances.

You will prove out new jobs, carry out first-off and in-process inspections, organise materials and tooling, and uphold strict health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating multi-axis CNC machines.
• Experience with Mazatrol control systems (Smooth preferred) and Fanuc controls.
• Background working with Mazak or Star machinery is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate and run multi-axis CNC machines using Mazatrol (Smooth) and Fanuc control systems.
• Manufacture precision components to drawings, meeting tight tolerances.
• Read, interpret and understand engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Prove out new jobs and perform first-off inspections to verify specifications.
• Carry out in-process and stage inspections of machined components.
