Job summary

Howden in Renfrew (Scotland) seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to sustain and improve CNC machine tools and related equipment. You will perform planned preventative maintenance, diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and drive reliability improvements.

You will collaborate with production and engineering teams to maintain machining accuracy and safety, contribute to continuous improvement, and ensure high uptime in a world-class manufacturing

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a maintenance role within precision engineering or similar manufacturing environments.
• Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills for CNC machine tools or equivalent equipment.
• Understanding of fault diagnosis across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and continuous improvement across CNC machine tools and manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems to minimise downtime.
• Support maintenance and optimisation of high-value manufacturing equipment including CNC machines and balancing machines.
• Troubleshoot and repair spindle systems, servo drives, axis drives, bearings and lubrication systems.
• Monitor machine condition and performance, identifying opportunities to improve reliability and uptime.
• Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
