Job summary

MultiStaff Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a temporary-3-month contract in Glenrothes, Scotland. The role involves maintaining CNC and general engineering machinery to keep production running safely and efficiently.

You will work on 12-hour continental or 4 days on/4 days off 3-shift patterns, with pay of £22.76 per hour (shift premium) or £20.20 per hour (shift premium). An ONC/HNC in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in maintenance engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Good knowledge of CNC and general engineering machinery.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good Health & Safety understanding.
• Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive with the ability to use own initiative.
• Good attention to detail and adaptability under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults on CNC and general engineering machinery.
• Identify and eliminate root causes of equipment breakdowns and downtime.
• Complete planned maintenance and follow-up work to a high standard.
• Identify recurring machinery faults and recommend effective solutions.
• Support improvements to machinery reliability, efficiency and performance.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve maintenance processes.
• Share technical knowledge and best practices with colleagues.
• Contribute to development and improvement of maintenance procedures and working practices.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with Health & Safety procedures.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a leading engineering and manufacturing business in Glenrothes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Technician with experience working on CNC and general engineering machinery. You will play an important role in keeping production equipment running safely, efficiently and reliably.

Shift Patterns & Pay

Continental Shift Pattern

12-hour shifts4 days on / 4 days off

£22.76 per hour including shift premium

3-Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday

37 hours per week

Rotating days, backs and nights

£20.20 per hour including shift premium

Key Responsibilities

About You

• An ONC/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Previous experience in a maintenance engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Good working knowledge of CNC and general engineering machinery.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• A good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive approach with the ability to use your own initiative.
• Good attention to detail.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
• The ability to remain calm and effective when working under pressure.
