Job summary
WR Engineering in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced CNC EDM Machinist to join their busy engineering and manufacturing team in Farlington. The role focuses on Wire EDM and Die Sink/Spark EDM with a strong background in precision machining to produce one-off components.
The candidate will read engineering drawings, program at the machine, and handle inspection and quality checks, ensuring tight tolerances. Overtime is available and remuneration up to £40,000 depending on experience.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Wire EDM and Die Sink/Spark EDM.
- Proficient in CNC machining and reading engineering drawings.
- Strong maths and geometry skills for precise tolerances.
Responsibilities
- Setting, programming and operating Wire EDM and Die Sink/Spark EDM machines
- Setting and operating CNC/semi-CNC machinery
- Producing one-off and precision components and tooling
- Programming directly at the machine
- Working from detailed engineering drawings
- Carrying out your own inspection and quality checks
- Reverse engineering components and tooling where required
- Using mathematics, geometry and trigonometry to calculate dimensions and machining requirements
- Monitoring machine condition and carrying out basic maintenance and troubleshooting
- Managing your own workload and taking jobs through from setup to completion
