Job summary

Adecco is looking for an Assembly Fitter to join our mechanical engineering team in Gateshead. You will assemble, deburr, inspect, and test machined components, ensuring quality and on-time delivery in a busy shop environment.

Required: mechanical engineering background with 3+ years in manufacturing, ability to read drawings and quality plans. Hydraulic/pneumatic pipe assembly experience is a plus. We offer training, development and a company car scheme.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background with 3+ years in manufacturing.
• Able to read engineering drawings, quality plans and specs.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic pipe assemblies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform deburring and dressing of machined components.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization during assembly.
• Run fluid gravity and pressure tests to verify function.
• Inspect parts against drawings using micrometres and vernier calipers.
• Identify and implement improved inspection methods.
• Log non-conformities and manage inspection status.
• Record quality data for traceability and compliance.
• Support 5S and quality procedures within the dept.
