Durham University is seeking an EAP Pre-Sessional Teacher to deliver our intensive UG, PGT and PGR entry programmes on campus. You will teach ~15 contact hours weekly, with ~16–18 hours planning and marking, and participate in weekly meetings with a supportive, international team.
Successful applicants will hold an MA in Applied Linguistics (or equivalent) and/or RSA DELTA, plus a good undergraduate degree and 2+ years of HE EAP teaching.

Job Description
We are seeking well-qualified, experienced EAP teachers to deliver our intensive Pre-sessional UG, PGT, and PGR entry-route programmes on campus. We welcome a diverse, international staff base.

2026 teaching contract dates (incl. induction week):
On-Campus 20 Week programme
20-week Programme (after the first 10 weeks students are streamed into one of the programmes below)

Support
All curricula and assessments are designed in-house. Teaching material is provided in full. Staff are supported in effective delivery of the programmes via a week-long induction followed by weekly meetings and ongoing co-ordinator support.
You will be expected to deliver ~15 contact teaching hours a week, spend ~16-18 hours a week planning and marking, and ~2-4 hours a week in meetings.
Pay is Grade 7 Spine Point 33 - £23.22 per hour plus 12.07% holiday pay.
Campus accommodation is provided for on-campus teachers.
