Job summary

Education Partnership North East (EPNE) is recruiting an FE teacher to plan, deliver and assess high-quality learning sessions. You will build a career-focused curriculum, monitor student progress and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create outstanding opportunities for learners.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Maths and English qualifications.
  • Minimum Level 5 PGCE, Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent – or, willingness to complete within 2 years of commencing role
  • Experience of teaching and working with students from a range of starting points / levels
  • Working collaboratively with students and colleagues to review student progress, achievement and personal development goals
  • Embed motivational skills development strategies to help students to progress and achieve
  • Planning and delivering sessions that are safe, inclusive, stretching and relevant to learners
  • Establishing high standards of behaviour, mutual respect and safe working environments
  • Successful experience of delivering high quality teaching / training
  • Experience of effective and innovative use of digital technology
  • Relevant practical experience in appropriate industry or profession.
  • Planning and developing a subject or education course, for delivery
  • Creating inclusive learning experiences by applying knowledge of special educational needs, disabilities or vulnerable learners

Responsibilities

  • Support with the planning and preparation of high-quality, sequenced learning through career-focused schemes of learning, session planning and resources.
  • Teach and support students to high standards using appropriate and varied student-centred approaches, embracing learning technologies to enhance the student experience.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of accurate records, documentation and course files to support Programme Leaders.
  • Set and maintain high expectations ensuring a high-quality student experience through all stages of the student journey, including monitoring and reviewing all aspects of student progress.
  • Set, monitor and maintain high expectations of student behaviour, attendance, attitudes and personal development.
  • Contribute to the development of the wider curriculum by participating in relationships with internal/external key stakeholders to provide the best possible opportunities for students.
  • Take responsibility for own continuous Professional Development including industry updating to maintain pedagogical currency.

Taking Teaching Further & Additional Incentives

If you’re making the move into further education teaching, you may be eligible for the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme a funded route to help industry professionals retrain as FE teachers.

In addition, for roles in high-need subjects or regions you may also benefit from the government’s targeted retention incentive (formerly “levelling-up premium”) payments, worth up to £6,000 for eligible teachers in their first five years and teaching certain shortage subjects.
