The Pre-Sales Specialist plays a key role in supporting the sales team by identifying customer needs, presenting tailored technical solutions, and demonstrating how the company’s offerings align with client requirements.

This role involves close collaboration with internal teams to ensure customer feedback and requirements are integrated into product development and engineering roadmaps. The Pre-Sales Specialist also assists in the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition from sale to implementation.

Throughout the sales cycle, the Pre-Sales Specialist provides expert guidance, delivers product demonstrations, and offers technical support to ensure proposed solutions are both viable and aligned with customer expectations.


Based on the region of the role, the role will be based in a country where we have an existing payroll setup. We are a flexi-first business and value in-person collaboration and make an effort to get together when and where makes the most impact.

Key outcomes of the role

Customer Interaction:

  • Work closely with sales and account management teams to understand customer requirements, business challenges, and goals
  • Conduct discovery calls or meetings with potential and existing customers to gather detailed technical and business requirements
  • Understand the customer’s business processes to ensure the proposed solution is the best fit
Solution Presentation and Demonstrations:
  • Deliver product demonstrations and presentations to new and existing customers, showcasing features and benefits
  • Customise product demonstrations according to customer needs
  • Create proof of concepts (PoCs) or pilots for customers to validate the solution
Proposal Support:
  • Assist the RFP team in the creation of technical proposals, ensuring alignment with customer needs
  • Collaborate with sales and account management teams to ensure that proposals address technical and business aspects accurately
Technical Expertise and Consultation:
  • Provide expert-level technical knowledge to sales and account management teams and customers
  • Stay up-to-date on products, services, and technologies
  • Explain complex technical concepts in a way that’s easy for non-technical stakeholders to understand
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
  • Work closely with the product development, marketing, and support teams to ensure that solutions are feasible and aligned with customer needs
  • Provide feedback from customers to internal teams to improve products and services
  • Work closely with product development and engineering teams in determining sizing of customer requirements and prioritise these to the roadmaps
  • Help close sales by addressing technical concerns and ensuring all technical requirements are met
  • Assist with overcoming any objections or barriers related to product capabilities or integrations
Training and Education:
  • Provide training or knowledge transfer to customers to ensure they can effectively use the solution post-sale
  • Participate in internal training to stay up-to-date on the latest product features and industry trends
About you
  • Strong understanding of the product or service being sold, including its technical specifications and benefits
  • Experience of working in DNS environment is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain technical solutions
  • Ability to work closely with sales teams and understand customer pain points and business needs
  • Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Skilled in analysing customer requirements and proposing the most appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work well in a team with cross-functional departments
  • Passionate about understanding customer needs and helping them achieve their business goals
Experience and skills that will help you succeed
  • Previous experience in a technical or sales-related role
  • Experience with customer-facing interactions and the ability to present and demonstrate technical solutions
  • Familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies
