Note: Existing NHS staff will remain on their current pay scale as per AfC. This is a full-time fixed-term contract for 2 years. Training involves an advanced apprenticeship leading to Level 3 Diploma (QCF) in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Level 3 NVQ Diploma (QCF) in Pharmacy Service Skills, qualifying you to register as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC.
Normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week with rotational weekend, late night, and bank holiday shifts. Attendance at 1 day's off-site training per week at BMET Matthew Boulton College or remote learning via GPhC-approved providers is required.
The post involves rotating through various pharmacy areas, including inpatient and outpatient dispensing, goods receipt, ward stock distribution, Medicines Management, and Final Accuracy Checking, providing diverse training experiences.
