Job description

Join to apply for the Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician role at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust.

Details of the role include:

1. 37.5 hours per week (Rotational Weekend Working, Bank Holiday & Late Nights)
2. Fixed term for 24 months (September 2025 - August 2027)
3. Salary: £26,530 - £29,114 per annum (70% of Band 4 in 1st year and 75% of Band 4 in 2nd year)
4. Closing Date: 15th June 2025

Note: Existing NHS staff will remain on their current pay scale as per AfC. This is a full-time fixed-term contract for 2 years. Training involves an advanced apprenticeship leading to Level 3 Diploma (QCF) in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Level 3 NVQ Diploma (QCF) in Pharmacy Service Skills, qualifying you to register as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC.

Normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week with rotational weekend, late night, and bank holiday shifts. Attendance at 1 day's off-site training per week at BMET Matthew Boulton College or remote learning via GPhC-approved providers is required.

The post involves rotating through various pharmacy areas, including inpatient and outpatient dispensing, goods receipt, ward stock distribution, Medicines Management, and Final Accuracy Checking, providing diverse training experiences.
