Job Opportunity: MET Technician / Mechanic Strip Fitter

Position: Mechanic Strip Fit

We are currently offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced MET Technician / Mechanic, with a background in bodyshop or accident repair, to join a leading accident repair group in their fast-paced bodyshop.

This role requires a skilled MET Technician capable of completing all panel repairs on accident-damaged vehicles. Qualifications such as ATA, NVQ Level 3, or IMI Level 3 are advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Remove & refit mechanical and electrical trims, panels, and components on vehicles
2. Carry out stripping and rebuilding work professionally, ensuring quality checks meet standards
3. Dismantle vehicles for panel repair
4. Perform inspections, fault finding, and diagnostics
5. Reassemble vehicles with new parts to pre-accident condition
6. Strip and fit components, bodywork, and trims
7. Complete all MET duties within your scope
8. Follow manufacturer repair methods to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition
9. Perform road tests if applicable
10. Dismantle and reassemble damaged vehicles according to repair procedures
11. Ensure timely completion of all jobs
12. Order parts as per estimates and manage unused parts appropriately
13. Adhere to all safety and standards regulations

Required Experience:

• City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Automotive Bodyshop Repair
• ATA qualification is an advantage
• Previous experience in a bodyshop MET role is essential
• Experience in strip, fit, and trim work
• Rebuilding bodywork on damaged vehicles within a bodyshop environment
