Job summary

Anglian Water Group Ltd. seeks a development planning specialist to assess developer enquiries and pre-planning submissions for water and wastewater services. You will identify capacity constraints, risks and sustainable connection options while liaising with developers and internal teams.

The role focuses on ensuring housing growth aligns with network resilience, sustainability, and environmental responsibilities within a hybrid Peterborough setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or environmental discipline is desirable.
• Some experience in water, infrastructure or environmental fields is desirable but not essential.
• The ability to interpret technical information and data.
• Strong written and verbal communication is essential.
• Interest in sustainable and practical engineering solutions.
• Good organisation skills and ability to manage a varied workload.

Responsibilities

• Assess developer enquiries and pre-planning submissions across water and wastewater services.
• Support identification of network capacity, flooding and environmental risks for proposed developments.
• Provide clear, accurate advice to developers, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Help identify appropriate and sustainable connection options.
• Support early understanding of potential reinforcement requirements.
• Contribute to planning responses that support housing growth and network resilience.
• Collaborate with planning, operations and delivery teams.
