Job summary

They seek a Pre-Contracts Manager to own the pre-construction process, coordinating with directors, the commercial team and external design consultants to win and deliver new work.

This role offers ownership from enquiry through handover with a London-based salary package of £70,000 to £95,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a pre-construction or pre-contracts role within a main contractor environment.
• Strong design & build experience within commercial fit-out (CAT A/CAT B).
• Good understanding of the London fit-out market, tendering, procurement and subcontractor packages.
• Experience coordinating design, commercial and estimating teams during the tender process.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify project risks and opportunities.
• Confident communication with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tenders at different stages.

Responsibilities

• Manage the pre-construction process from initial enquiry and tender through to contract award and handover.
• Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications to identify project requirements, risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate with estimating, commercial and design teams to prepare competitive tenders.
• Work closely with clients, consultants and supply chain partners throughout the tender process.
• Oversee design development, value engineering and buildability reviews on design & build projects.
• Prepare tender programmes, preliminaries, cost plans and supporting documentation.
• Attend client meetings and presentations, helping build relationships and strengthen future opportunities.
• Identify commercial risks and ensure these are addressed before projects move into delivery.
• Support business development by maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and helping secure new projects.
• Ensure a smooth handover to the delivery team once contracts are secured.
