Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a MEPH Building Services Design Manager to lead pre-construction technical design evaluation with a strong focus on early-stage assurance. The role is based from our London office, with travel across the region to support project development.

You will drive front-end technical leadership across MEPH designs, ensuring ER compliance, robust calculations and fully evidenced design strategies before delivery. Strong collaboration and BIM oversight are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in pre-construction MEPH design management.
• Ability to interrogate design proposals and identify risks.
• Strong knowledge of thermal modelling and energy compliance.
• Professional qualifications in CIBSE/IMechE/IET or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead early-stage MEPH pre-construction technical design activities and ensure compliance with ERs and regulations.
• Challenge and validate consultant design proposals, identifying omissions and risks.
• Coordinate cross-discipline input for cohesive, buildable design outputs.
• Oversee BIM deliverables from a pre-construction perspective for model accuracy and information completeness.
• Produce clear evaluation reports highlighting compliance status, risks and required actions.
• Support procurement with technical leadership and clear scopes.
