Austin Matley HR & Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a commercially minded Pre-Construction Manager for an infrastructure client in London. The role turns customer requirements into fully scoped, costed proposals and coordinates sales, design, procurement and operations from initial brief through to delivery handover.

You will review drawings and specifications, challenge supplier pricing and labour allowances to protect margins, manage multiple opportunities and drive bids with proactive ownership

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering, utilities or related project environments.
• Strong costing, tendering or pre-construction coordination background.
• Good commercial judgement, organisation and stakeholder management.

Pre-Construction Manager

Our client, an infrastructure business is seeking a commercially minded Pre-Construction Manager to turn customer requirements into fully scoped, accurately costed and deliverable proposals.

This is a hands-on role coordinating sales, design, procurement and operations to progress opportunities from initial brief through to proposal and delivery handover.

Key responsibilities

• Develop costings, quotations and tender proposals, clearly defining scope, assumptions and exclusions.
• Challenge supplier pricing, design choices and labour allowances to protect project margins.
• Coordinate technical input and identify delivery risks before proposals are submitted.
• Manage multiple opportunities, resolve blockers and maintain proposal deadlines.
• Improve costing processes and use project feedback to strengthen future bids.

About you

You'll have experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering, utilities or a related project environment, with a track record in costing, tendering or pre-construction coordination.

Strong commercial judgement, organisation and stakeholder management skills are essential.

Experience reviewing drawings, technical specifications and supplier quotations would be advantageous.
