Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to lead the bid team across regional projects valued from £5m to £30m, ensuring robust technical and commercial submissions.

You will report to the Managing Director and drive the pre-construction strategy, talent development, and market intelligence to secure successful bids and optimise value for health and education sectors.

Qualifications

• HNC or higher in Construction is required.
• Valid UK driving licence is required.
• Proficiency in programming software and ability to articulate delivery strategy.
• Excellent organisational skills with capacity to manage multiple projects.
• Experience with BIM and extensive technical construction knowledge.
• Ability to present opportunities to the Board.

Responsibilities

• Develop the pre-construction and delivery programmes for each project.
• Ensure bid teams collate inputs for robust technical and commercial submissions.
• Support development and management of talent within the pre-construction team.
• Identify and present new opportunities for review with the Board.
• Share market intelligence to enhance future bids (Sustainability & MMC).
• Maintain a dynamic bid library to support future bids and social value.
• Report to the Board weekly and monthly on workload and opportunities pipeline.

The role of a Pre-Construction Manager

I am looking to speak with experienced Pre-Construction professionals who can engage at the front end of the business taking responsibility for the management of the estimating team, incoming tender qua lity, tender recommendation and technical support that will inform the basis of the operational business need. You will report directly to the Managing Director and manage the complete tender process across multiple projects, adding value and experience to the estimating teams and ensuring the key project needs are captured to allow the accurate costing and risk appraisal.

As Pre-Construction Manager, you will be responsible for leading the bid team on a wide range of regional construction projects across health and education ranging from £5m - £30m in value, ensuring adequate bid resources are in place and taking overarching responsibility for successful bid submissions and robust management of development opportunities.

Duties of a Pre-Construction Manager

• Develop the pre-construction programme, delivery programme and operational delivery strategy for each project People Role Profile
• Ensure the bid teams are managed and are collating inputs from a variety of stakeholders to ensure a robust technical and commercial submission is issued
• Support the development and management of talent within the pre-construction team
• To identify and present new opportunities for review with the Board
• Identify and share market intelligence to enhance our offer on future bids (for example Sustainability and Modern Methods of Construction)
• Ensure a dynamic bid library is maintained to assist in future bid collateral and clear demonstration of our Social Value offer
• Report directly to Board on a weekly and monthly basis on workload and opportunities pipeline to assist in identifying any resource needsEnsure cross selling of the wider Estates business where appropriate

Requirements of a Pre-Construction Manager

• A relevant industry qualification at HNC or above in Construction.
• Full valid UK driving licence.
• Proficiency in programming software and development of literature to clearly articulate the delivery strategy at pre-construction phase.
• Great organisational skills, capable of delivering multiple projects at any one time.
• Previous BIM Experience.
• Have extensive technical construction knowledge.
