Job summary

Jobsworth Recruitment seeks a Pre-Construction Manager to cover the North East and North West regions, based from Hull, Leeds or Manchester. You will travel regularly between locations to develop regional plans and secure tender opportunities.

The successful candidate will manage bid processes, liaise with clients and suppliers, and work with senior teams to deliver projects. A construction background and driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction industry preferred.
• Business Development or Sales experience would be advantageous.
• Graduate applicants may be considered with a construction-related qualification.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
• Full UK driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop regional business plans to achieve sales and margin targets.
• Manage a pipeline of tender opportunities.
• Lead bid process from enquiry to submission and presentation.
• Build relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Estimators, Branch Managers and senior management.
• Conduct site surveys and provide technical guidance.
• Prepare project specifications and proposals for customers.
• Liaise with suppliers to maximise opportunities.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
• Deliver presentations and CPD sessions to decision makers.
• Support smooth delivery of contracts with operations teams.
• Promote products and services across the region.

Pre-Construction Manager
Locations: Hull, Leeds & Manchester
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (1-hour lunch)
Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance + Bonus + Pension
Head Office is B62, Birmingham. You will be required to interview here and attend some traing sessions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional, business development specialist, or a recent graduate with a construction-related qualification looking to build a long-term career within the industry.

The successful candidate will be required to travel regularly between Hull, Leeds and Manchester, therefore flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional business plans to achieve sales and margin targets.
• Manage an existing pipeline of tender opportunities.
• Lead and coordinate the bid process from initial enquiry through to submission and presentation.
• Build and develop relationships with new and existing clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Work closely with Estimators, Branch Managers and senior management teams.
• Conduct site surveys and provide technical advice and guidance.
• Prepare project specifications and proposals for prospective customers.
• Liaise with suppliers to identify and maximise business opportunities.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
• Deliver presentations and CPD sessions to key decision-makers, surveyors and clients.
• Support the smooth delivery of contracts by working alongside operational and contract management teams.
• Promote company products and services across the region.

Skills & Experience Required

• Construction industry experience preferred.
