WHAT TO EXPECT

The GME Pre Construction Team seeks a highly motivated Pre-Construction Engineer to support infrastructure development, from new builds to refurbishments. You will assist in developing proposals, design concepts, and project programs from strategic planning through to commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Support feasibility studies, including design and cost management
• Deliver pre-construction activities for infrastructure projects using internal and external contractors
• Promote a “Zero Harm” safety culture in designs and contractor performance
• Manage various construction projects, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical works, and facility fit-outs
• Ensure compliance with pre-construction regulations such as planning and building control

Requirements

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in infrastructure fields (e.g., Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, etc.)
• Membership of recognized bodies (e.g., RICS, CIOB, ICES, APM) preferred
• Knowledge of RIBA Plan of Work stages and information exchange processes
• Experience in pre-construction, design, planning, and feasibility studies
• Understanding of site safety and legislation (e.g., CDM 2015)
• Strong organizational and project management skills
